Great packaging, cowboy themed box. Opening the box one is greeted by the wonderful smell of leather. Touching the leather, buttery soft, smooth and supple. The stitchiing is tight and clean around the welt. The stitching on the vibram type sole is clean. The heel is it's achille's. It is not great looking, standard straight. A cuban heel or your Johnny Black heel and quailty brass hardware would knock this boot out of the park and take it to another level. I digress. The foot bed is a pleasure to break in. After a week or so is conforming nicely. The style of this boot is so cool, 1950's vibe. Now if we could change the heel in a future boot! Thumbs up for a super stylish and comfortable engineer boot. Great service, answered a few questions quickly and speedy delivery.
the boot has a light feel probably due to the lighter sole and toned down heel stack. it has a two piece sole which i happen to think looks good. getting the shape down is the toughest thing to do for an engineer so they dont look too bulbous. here they achieved that; it has an attractive, sleek profile with a glossy leather. it slips on easy enough but snug. i have a normal size 12 d and it was perfect, no heel slip. probably would have a tough time with thick socks or a cushion insole.
Absolutely stunning, these boots in person are breathtaking. The photos don’t capture the elegance of these boots. The size is spot on to my tennis shoe size, perfect. I will definitely be looking at the other styles for future purchases. If you are a fan of engineer boots then look no further.
The styling is classic and timeless. It's a sound investment esp. if you take care of the boot. Upon seeing it on the store website, despite it being out of stock, I knew I had to have it so I put my name & email address on the waitlist. Glad I did. Wasn't too long before I received an "in stock" notice.
I will also say this. My right foot is 10 & 7/8 inches long. I wear a men's size 11 D or Medium width. The boot is a little too snug in the forefoot meaning from just in front of the ankle to the toes. No. I don't need a size 12 because it would then be too long, like by at least an inch, give or take. So. I will try to get a custom fit by maybe wearing a thick pair of socks to stretch the boot to fit. Once it's a littIe roomier I can wear a sock that's not thick. I might buy a boot stretcher and go from there. I'm willing to go to the trouble to make the boot fit better because I love the boot.
